The Qur’anic Narratives: Historical Authenticity and Characteristics (Features) Khalaf Allah’s book as an example

This paper is to identify the Holy Qur‟an‟s position especially the Qur‟anic Narratives in historical and literature studies. It mentions briefly the Western tendencies (trends) in studying the Holy Qur‟an; where they tried to negate the divine source of the Holy Qur‟an (the revelation). It shows how the Holy Qur‟an responds them using: challenging method, comparison method, and historical compulsory method. It also explains how far it is plausible to judge the Holy Qur‟an by the Old & New Testaments and history.
The paper then shows that the Qur‟anic narratives have been studied by exegetes, historians, eloquence scholars, Qur‟anic miracles scholars, and recently literary criticism scholars. It describes briefly their tendencies (trends) in studying Qur‟anic narratives. The paper took Khalaf Allah‟s book (Stories in the Holy Qur’an) as an example; that‟s because he is the most prominent and controversial in such field, moreover his ideas are still coming up in some contemporary studies.
Therefore, any researcher (irrespective of religion) can use the paper to have an introductory view serves as a guideline for similar researches. I hope it helps to avoid misconception that people have developed towards the Holy Qur‟an and its narratives.
